Together with Reporters Without Borders, the BBZ campaigned for the Afghan journalist Zakia and her relatives to be admitted to Berlin so that they could continue to be accompanied and supported after their arrival.
Although the Federal Government had already approved the admission of Zakia in principle, an assignment for Berlin was not originally planned.
We now know that she and her family will arrive in Berlin on January 26th and we look forward to meeting them in person soon.
